IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU.

Thanks for coming to see what makes us, us!

You will experience a warm welcome, no matter who you are, no matter what questions and doubts you have, and no matter what your experiences with church have been in the past.

At FCC, our worship gatherings are simple. We hope to shine the spotlight on our great and awesome God through scripture reading, prayer, inspiring music and clear teaching and preaching.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Our denomination, Disciples of Christ, began in the early 19th century, with a goal to end the division of denominations. We keep our communion table open at all services in an effort to promote oneness among Christians.

If you have any further questions related to our beliefs, please contact us.

Staff & Leadership

  • rev. PEter mitchell, senior minister

Envelope   Rev. Peter Mitchell was born in Kentucky and grew up in Iowa. Peter is married to Annaliese Mitchell, a McKinney ISD first grade teacher. The Mitchells have 2 kids, Will and Caroline. Their family also has a duo of Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes – Rosie and Stella. Peter has a BA in Communication Studies from Texas Christian University and a Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at TCU. When not at church, Peter loves boating, camping, snow skiing, hiking, running, TCU athletics and coffee. Things he is bad at: Golf, fishing, hunting, (those three require stillness and quiet…), emptying the dishwasher without being prompted, watching movies, reading for fun, lawn maintenance, unnecessary stops on road trips. You want to get there, don’t you? Rev. Mitchell joined the staff of First Christian Church in July 2020.

  • Rev. Ginger Brandt, Family Life minister

Rev. Ginger Brandt joined the staff of First Christian Church McKinney in August of 2026 following 14 years of ministerial leadership on the staff of First Christian Church Tyler.  Ginger holds degrees from Austin College and the University of Colorado, Boulder.  Credentialed as a Commissioned Minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Ginger has served in a variety of leadership roles throughout the Christian Church in the Southwest and at Disciples Crossing campground in Athens.  She and her husband have 3 sons, and the very busy life that goes with them!

    finance ASSISTANT

When Lisa began working with our youth group, it consisted of only a handful of high schoolers and a dozen junior highers. Less than a year later, we have had the privilege of seeing this small ministry grow and flourish under her direction.
