contemporary service
9AM IN THE DISCIPLESHIP CENTER (Main entrance located off paula road)

Contemporary service at FCC McKinney melds a blend of praise songs familiar from the radio and classic hymns in our praise and worship style played by our worship band. The sermon reflects on scripture in relevant ways in order to teach God’s love and mercy.

We serve communion by asking those in attendance to come forward to receive prepackaged communion (bread and grape juice), then they will return to their seat. All are invited to participate in communion.

Children in the service are all invited to the front for a 'Children's Moment' as a group to explore a devotion designed especially for kids. During the remainder of the service children of all ages are welcome to remain with their parents and/or guardians. Childcare is available for infants through 3 years of age.

traditional SERVICE
11AM IN THE sanctuary

Our 11am worship is located in our Sanctuary and offers a vibrant traditional worship experience. We sing traditional hymns and have a full choir, bell choir, and organ. The sermon reflects on scripture in relevant ways in order to teach God’s love and mercy.

We serve communion by passing trays of prepackaged communion (bread and grape juice) while those in attendance remain seated. All are invited to participate in communion.

During the remainder of the service children of all ages are welcome to remain with their parents and/or guardians. There is Kid's Corner located towards the back of the worship area where children can play quietly or read books. Childcare is available for infants through 3 years of age.

  • We believe that Jesus is transforming our lives and our world.

As his disciples, we invite people to:

    • Follow Jesus
    • Listen for God’s will
    • Grow in spiritual maturity
    • Practice compassion and forgiveness
    • Lead through servanthood
  • The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) began as a part of the Stone Campbell Movement in the early 19th century, in the United States, as an attempt to end the divisions of denominations. Proclaiming “no creed but Christ” and “unity is our polar star” our founders were committed to an open communion table and the oneness of all Christians.

Fast forward over two hundred years and you will find a diverse denomination attempting to practice radical hospitality and welcome to people of all backgrounds. In a time when many are leaving rigid faith traditions, we believe our openness to intellectual thought and our emphasis on spirituality and justice are needed by an often-hurting world. • You will experience a warm welcome, no matter who you are, no matter what questions and doubts you have, and no matter what your experiences with church have been in the past. Our worship gatherings are simple. We hope to shine the spotlight on our great and awesome God through scripture reading, prayer, inspiring music and clear teaching and preaching.
