IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU.

Thanks for coming to see what makes us, us!

You will experience a warm welcome, no matter who you are, no matter what questions and doubts you have, and no matter what your experiences with church have been in the past.

At FCC, our worship gatherings are simple. We hope to shine the spotlight on our great and awesome God through scripture reading, prayer, inspiring music and clear teaching and preaching.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Our denomination, Disciples of Christ, began in the early 19th century, with a goal to end the division of denominations. We keep our communion table open at all services in an effort to promote oneness among Christians.

If you have any further questions related to our beliefs, please contact us.

Staff & Leadership

Rev. Peter Mitchell was born in Kentucky and grew up in Iowa. Peter is married to Annaliese Mitchell, a Kindergarten teacher for the Princeton ISD. The Mitchells have 2 kids, Will and Caroline. Their family also has a duo of Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes – Rosie and Stella. Peter has a BA in Communication Studies from Texas Christian University and a Master of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School at TCU. When not at church, Peter loves boating, camping, snow skiing, hiking, running, TCU athletics and coffee. Things he is bad at: Golf, fishing, hunting, (those three require stillness and quiet…), emptying the dishwasher without being prompted, watching movies, reading for fun, lawn maintenance, unnecessary stops on road trips. You want to get there, don’t you? Rev. Mitchell joined the staff of First Christian Church in July 2020.

Rev. Katherine B. Wright is originally from a family farm in Melissa, Texas where she was a volunteer firefighter and a member of First Christian Church McKinney. Through those two things, she felt a call to ministry and earned a Bachelor of Arts from TCU in Religion and Communication Studies.

Katherine then earned a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School. While she was there she served as the Student Associate Pastor at New Hope Fellowship (Disciples of Christ) focusing on outreach and children's ministry. Katherine was ordained a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest Region in May 2017. Soon after that, Katherine served as the Minister of Family Life and Community at Central Christian Church in downtown San Antonio where she worked closely with the youth, social media, and outreach ministry. Rev. Wright returned to her home church in November 2019 to serve as the Family Life Minister, where she ministers to children, youth, college students, and their families.

In her free time, she enjoys seeing movies, playing board games, and tending her small garden. Katherine is married to Josh Wilson, a business management consultant and Arkansas Razorback and they live in Frisco with their cat.

When Lisa began working with our youth group, it consisted of only a handful of high schoolers and a dozen junior highers. Less than a year later, we have had the privilege of seeing this small ministry grow and flourish under her direction.
